Well, last night was a real shock cycling around East Croydon. Only once did a car try to run me off the road, most of the time, I think I must have been invisible to the cars and drivers, all in a hurry to get to the next traffic jam.
So goodbye London and I took the train right back to the Coast and Brighton so I could cycle the South Coast Route to Portsmouth. – okay – possibly mistake three. The general difference between French (let alone Dutch) cycle paths and English ones was massive and not in a good way For the second time, a SUV decided I had no right to use his road.
The one bright light was this sign. I saw it and went back to Vicky’s Kitchen where I had a great feed. Unfortunately she’s closing down in a couple of weeks after years as business this year has died away and the future seems uncertain.
I may head back to France for the next few days or continue up toward Somerset. I’ll decide in the morning
